The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art was awarded a two-year, $54,600 grant in 2014. The grant allowed 1,259 CMS elementary and high school students to have an authentic arts-integrated educational experience, 114 incarcerated individuals to participate in arts programming that was recently featured in The Charlotte Observer, 87 individuals with low-to-no vision to experience art through a pilot program, and 47 individuals with Alzheimer’s or dementia to participate in Museum Memories, a new program funded by the grant. Our grant ultimately enabled the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art to strengthen its partnerships with many other nonprofits.
