Originally from Roanoke, Virginia, Nicole Hall has been in the Charlotte area for nearly 11 years. She attended undergraduate studies at Mary Washington College, received her MBA while working in commercial real estate, and then studied architecture at Virginia Tech. Putting her studies to professional use, she initially worked as an architect for about 15 years. Then, she made the decision to pursue a new career as a residential real estate agent at Helen Adams. Nicole says, “It’s been a great transition as I get to combine my love of design with helping people find or sell their homes.” In her free time, she and her husband are renovating their own mid-century modern home. They also stay busy as the parents to five fur kids – three dogs and two cats. Nicole’s other passions include playing tennis, reading, having wine with friends, traveling, and most anything involving the arts. While her life is busy, she enjoys it all!
Nicole originally learned about WIF from Google (the way of the world these days!). “My mom was part of a collective giving organization where I grew up and when I moved to Charlotte, I thought there had to be a similar organization,” she notes. In addition to wanting to give philanthropically, Nicole ultimately decided to join WIF because she wanted the opportunity to learn more about her community and meet other like-minded individuals, and build friendships.
Having been a member for more than a year now, when she reflects on whether she would recommend WIF to others, her emphatic answer is, “Absolutely, yes! In fact, I’ve already recommended it to several friends, and some have already become members.” In order to make the most of the WIF experience, her advice to other members is to jump in and get involved. “I connected with the membership committee immediately when I joined the organization in April 2021 and just started volunteering to do whatever I could to help. This past year I’ve been involved with both membership and grants, which has allowed me to learn even more about WIF,” Nicole shares. She also recommends going to events – whether it is a social, an education event, or a book club discussion. “I’ve met some talented and incredible women at each of these and have learned so much about the amazing things happening in our community. I’m grateful to be a part of this organization!” she notes.
